Looking Back On 2014

I had a pretty rough start to 2015 - I worked a very busy and disorganised New Year's Eve function in a restaurant kitchen which isn't really geared for doing functions, and it was a total mess and incredibly frustrating.

Not sure I will sign up for the same if it comes up next year. Despite the public holiday penalty rates, it really didn't feel worth the aggravation - and I'm still feeling this after sleeping on it. Usually I get over a bad shift at work as soon as it's over, but no.....

Well, despite the rough start, it looks like 2015 will be an awesome year! I'm not much for New Years resolutions and such any more though - I now prefer to go with the flow and keep re-evaluating things as they happen, without letting anything fall into a rut to the point where I think "I'll fix it next year..."!

So anyway, 2014 was a pretty awesome year, and 2015 promises to continue being more of the same kind of awesome. Travel, friendship, cuddles, good company and good times - with promises of more of the same awesome to come!

"Working to live instead of living to work" does sometimes feel like I'm making excuses to be a little lazy in the career/work department, so I might re-evaluate that one at some point during 2015 again, but otherwise it's quite good at the moment.

So anyway, I'm off to the USA for a month tomorrow! Probably won't be blogging from over there, but who knows. There'll definitely be a post-trip post about it at the very least!

Happy 2015 to everyone!
