Flagstaff Gardens

I took a walk to Flagstaff Gardens this evening. I was hoping that there would be a nice view of the sunset to the west, but that turned out to be a bit of a disappointment really. The area is slightly raised, which made me think that there would be nice sweeping views, but it's mostly quite cluttered with buildings and trees.

Still, I did get some decent shots which give a basic idea of the mood of the area, and the views one can get from there in various directions. And then on my walk home I took a few night shots too, some of which turned out quite nicely.

1st October Night Walk

It's been a while since I've posted on here. I'm not actually sure why. I think it's mostly because I've been a bit busier than usual (both socially as well as with work), and nothing has really inspired me to write.

So tonight I went out for a fairly long photo walk around the east edge of the Melbourne CBD - mostly around Treasury Gardens first, and then down to Birrarung Marr. It was a nice clear spring night, and quite calm and pleasant to be outside. The city itself was packed with public holiday eve crowds, but that didn't really affect the open spaces very much.

The selection of photos follows my walk: Treasury Gardens, views of the city from Birrarung Marr, and some views of St Patrick's Cathedral and the sports precinct.
