Late Afternoon in St Kilda

I went for a big walk around the St Kilda foreshore yesterday. It was a showery and windy afternoon, a fairly typical early spring day really.

The beauty of it - in terms of photography - was that some big shower clouds passed over and went east, making the east sky dark and dramatic as the sun was going down, while the west sky cleared, making for a beautiful red sunset.

After the sun went down, I tried to take some night shots too, but these were less successful - mostly because it was just so windy out on the pier that my tripod was vibrating - making long exposures a bit blurry.
