It turned out that there were some little clouds out west after all, so sunset itself was reasonably interesting, if not particularly spectacular in the scheme of things.
One of the main things I was trying to do on this walk was to make the sunset photos look as realistic to memory as possible. With my OM-D EM-5, I find that the white balance tends to be a little washed out in bright afternoon conditions by default (if shooting on manual or program modes), while using iAuto or the sunset scene setting usually oversaturates it. Sunset mode does overall get it reasonably close though, unless there are some bizarre combinations of colours and shadows happening.
So anyway, here is a selection of pics. No filters or any major post-processing here. It's basically as close to reality as my memories of the evening.
